Rizistal SC880 Clear Paving Sealer is a low viscosity, clear acrylic coating designed to penetrate, seal and protect a wide range of paving substrates whilst also improving natural aesthetics.
- Improved appearance: Will restore and improve the look of tired and dull looking paving systems, leaving a satin gloss finish to the pavers.
- Increased durability: The acrylic formula will improve the wear & abrasion resistance of the pavers.
- Increased stain resistance: The sealed surface will repel a wide range of spillages such as oil and fuel, making cleaning easier.
- Improves binding strength of the sand fillers: The acrylic formula will bind the sand jointing filler, increasing its strength and it’s bond to the sides of the pavers.
5 – 10m² per litre.
The sealer is a flammable compound with a flash point of 42°C.
It should be stored in a cool, dry area with good ventilation. Smoking or the use of any naked flames within the storage area will pose significant Health and Safety risks.
Store in closed containers to extend shelf life.
Brush the area with a stiff broom to remove as much loose dust, dirt and other debris as possible. Top up any joints with dry jointing sand prior to application. To ensure maximum adhesion, paving should be dry, although the sealer can be applied to damp surfaces, but not wet.
Stains on the surface must be cleaned off prior to application of the sealer coat.
Please Note: Block paving with an excessive lime or salt content can produce unsightly white surface deposits commonly known as ‘efflorescence’. These deposits should be removed by stiff or wire brushing prior to application.
It is advisable to test the sealer on a small area prior to application across the entire surface.
1 – 2 hours. To increase working time and shelf life all containers should be tightly sealed when not in use.
Touch dry at 20°C after 2 – 4 hours.
Full Cure at 20°C after 24 hours.
No mixing required. The sealer is ready to use straight from the container.
The acrylic formula of the sealer has a flash point of 42°C and should not be applied in temperatures approaching this figure.
For optimum results, application is normally carried out by roller.
The substrate and accompanying bedding sand should be allowed to absorb as much of the resin as possible, without leaving puddles.
A second coat may be applied after the first has dried to improve the satin gloss appearance and stain resistance.
Care should be taken to avoid over application particularly on steep surfaces, as this may constitute a slip hazard when wet.
The sealer should not be applied in conditions where there is frost in the ground or when freezing conditions are expected.
Variations in porosity and method of manufacture will affect the penetration of the sealer. This can result in a patchy appearance once the product has dried. It is therefore advisable to test the paving seal on a small area of surface before application to the larger area.
The sealer will withstand normal outdoor temperatures ranging from -20 to +40°C.
The sealer is a flammable material, which requires good ventilation in the work area.
Avoid sources of combustion and naked flame during use and store in closed containers.
Skin and eye contact should be avoided with appropriate PPE worn at all times.
More information in the MSDS.
In the event of excessive inhalation of concentrated vapour, remove said person to fresh air and call for medical attention.
Contact with the eyes should be followed by a thorough wash with clean, cold water. Call for medical attention immediately after.
If the coating becomes alight, extinguish with a carbon dioxide, dry chemical or foam fire extinguisher, sand or earth.
Tools may be cleaned using Rizistal Safer Solvent or Rizistal High Performance General Purpose Cleaning Solvent. Spillages should be wiped off any surfaces before the coating has time to cure.
