Rizistal RF780 High Build Bitumen Coating is a carefully selected blend of bitumen resins, rubber compounds and oils with added fillers and reinforcement fibres, which combine to give a long lasting solution to roof waterproofing and repair needs.
The Coating is a thick, yet pourable compound, which is ideal for large areas of roofing to be coated quickly and easily.
The Coating is applied using a squeegee to a thickness of 1-3mm, which provides a flexible and waterproof layer.
It is perfect for bridging minor cracks and imperfections, and can help to level the underlying substrate.
In turn, this improves drainage and will reduce pooling making a costly re-roofing project a thing of the past.
- Easy to apply.
- Extremely durable due to its heavy duty reinforced rubber / bitumen compound.
- Good chemical resistance against acid rain and dilute alkali based cleaning products.
- High level of flexibility due to its reinforced formulation, which is able to bridge cracks and maintain integrity even through extreme climatic temperature variation.
- Composite roofing tiles
- Natural slates
- Felt and mineral felt
- Asbestos or cement sheeting
- Corrugated iron, aluminium & galvanised steel sheeting

When not in use the High Build Coating should be stored in a tightly sealed container and should be kept indoors.
All surfaces must be thoroughly prepared to ensure that they are free from any contamination or loose material.
Any moss or other organic matter should be removed by jet washing, detergent cleaning and or mechanical scraping.
Ensure the surface is as dry as possible before application.
In its original state there is an indefinite pot life, curing will only begin on application to the substrate.
Therefore, all containers should be tightly sealed when not in use.
Approximately 48 hours at 2mm thick, depending on ambient temperature and conditions.
An increased application thickness as well as moisture will increase curing time.
After installation, this product must be kept clean and dry for 12 to 18 hours (depending on ambient temperatures), otherwise the product performance willl be seriously affected, which may result in discolouration and lack of cure.
Requires no mixing prior to use.
The application of the Coating can be carried out between -10 and 40°C.
Empty the contents of High Build Coating onto the substrate and drag out with a squeegee or spatula to the required thickness.
To level out the coating, continue to work over the material with a squeegee until you are satisfied with the aesthetic.
Please note: The compound will leave a slightly textured finish.
The Roof Repair Coating has a resistance to a range of acids and alkalis at low concentrations.
Following full cure, the Coating will begin to soften at 70°C.
The Roof Repair Coating is a solvent based system which can give off an inflammable vapour.
Allow for appropriate ventilation when used in confined spaces until the product is completely dry.
Rizistal advises that the following steps are taken during application:
- Wear appropriate PPE.
- Remove all naked flames, burning embers or spark risks during application and drying.
- Avoid inhalation or consumption.
- Avoid contact directly to the skin, eyes or non-protected areas of the body.
Further information in the MSDS.
In the event of excessive inhalation of concentrated vapour, remove said person to fresh air and call for medical attention.
Contact with the eyes should be followed by a thorough wash with clean, cold water. Call for medical attention immediately after.
If the coating becomes alight, extinguish with a carbon dioxide, dry chemical or foam fire extinguisher, sand or earth.
Tools may be cleaned using Rizistal Safer Solvent or Rizistal High Performance General Purpose Cleaning Solvent. Spillages should be wiped off any surfaces before the bitumen paint has time to cure.
